Analyst/Programmer IV (Senior Network Specialist) As a senior technician, I am a resource to other computing professionals. Senior database administrator for all MS SQL Servers. Responsible for the Local Area Networks in five divisions located in seven buildings in three cities using Microsoft NT Server 4.0. Major player in the conversion from IBM LAN Server, Warp Server and OS/2 to NT Server and NT Workstation. I was the project lead for the Internet based email Server and Eudora clients. I was project leader for establishing our first Gopher and WWW servers and thereby establishing our presents on the Internet. As a member of the Lieutenant Governor's Internet Task Force, I helped define the State's framework and connectivity. I was project lead for projects including: upgrades of desktop operating systems, development of a code server to stabilize and expedite installation. Responsible for all systems programming for Wang VS minicomputer. I was project lead for conversion of the Wang PACE databases and applications to an IBM AS/400. |

Data Processing Manager I As manager of the Department's only information technology office, I reported to Deputy Commissioner of Education. The unit had a budget of $650,000 and a staff of six consisting of a data communications specialist, a data processing clerk, and four analyst / programmers. The unit consisted of the entire development and support team for the five major divisions of the agency. Major accomplishments include the expansion of office automation to every desktop; conversion to PCs on local area networks connected via the State's wide area network; and development of over 20 production applications using a fourth generation environment and DBMS. |

Student Programmer As the only student programmer, I assisted the computer professionals in processing the student records and accounting records of the college using unit record machines and computer programs for an IBM 1401. Responsible for emergency fixes to computer programs, I had to be knowledgeable in the internal operations of the IBM 1401 and in making bit level corrections directly into computers memory and into program object decks. I was responsible for the computer laboratory during student access, acting as a consultant to students. |
